Hailing from New Paltz, New York, indie group Revival Jam just released their first album entitled Ask Again Later. It's a fantastic collection of exploratory and communal indie-pop, which takes a traditional folk-song essence into the new age with its soulful yet edgy twang. Their sound aesthetic is very reminiscent of early Grouplove meets Violent Femmes and Edward Share & the Magnetic Zeros, yet retains a very authentic and pure individuality. Our friends over at elevtrtrax captured their vibe perfectly by saying "Frontman/songwriter Andrew Wolfson’s dance between modern indie-pop and early 90’s guitar driven rock always seems to land in the right place, never too far into the past to be nostalgic, never too current to fall in the dream-pop trend currently running amok." We cannot agree more, as this track really defines the album as a whole, describing it as Preserved Youth. With its winding riding theme and passionate vocals, the song develops into enchanting and encapsulating memories of care-free childhood summers, which both never fade yet grow distant as the years pass by. Let these warm guitar riffs guide you, as you try to preserve the final moments of this Summer.

In the last week, a few of our Alt Rising Acts have released some stellar tracks that you definitely won't want to miss. Let IndieBeat favorites Telepathic Teddy Bear, Miss Geo, and Inner Outlaws help you jump start your day with today's triple-feature replay:
If you follow Telepathic Teddy Bear on his social media, you know he's currently hard at work creating new music. Last week he gave us a treat of what is to come with a cover of Crywolf & Ianborg's Runaway. Just as always, Juan never disappoints--this time he reinvents the electronic track into a more innovative, deconstructed internal exploration. It's so intimate, it veers on eerie. Still retaining his signature electropop sound, TTB blends soothing acoustics with fervent synth sonics to form a more cerebral, meditative vibe. This track is dynamically layered with ornate and thoughtful instrumentals that build upon a minimal and yearning foundation. It's incredible how he always quilts together diverse sounds to form such cogent masterpieces.
Long time friends of the blog, Miss Geo released a new single yesterday as part of Foundwaves Magazine's 'Alice In Wonderland' song muse series. The dance track continues their sonic evolution into a more exploratory atmospheric vibe of their synth sound aesthetic. Miles From Home tends to reminisce late-Talking Heads with its cultural infusion of subtle afro-funk elements. It's refined yet complex as the atmospherics and ornamentation resonate as the construction winds and weaves down the rabbit hole. It's a stellar interpretation of the age-old narrative, giving some humanity and modernity to the fairy tale. Luckily, there's more Miss Geo on the way--the duo just recorded their next single Live Wild at the Converse Rubbertracks Studio. Be sure to keep a lookout for that!
Inner Outlaws continue their Year of the Outlaw initiative with another single for another month! With Crystal Case these guys ventured out into the new frontiers of psych-folk with a more introverted and cerebral aesthetic. The ruminating and revolutionary vibe retains the group's mind-expanding nature, but in a unique departure that's both self-aware and metamorphically surreal. The track is alluring, yet retains an edge with an elusive energy that transcends explanation. It's as if Fleetwood Mac and Ben Gibbard tripped-out in the desert together to form--as one SoundCloud fan puts it-- a cosmic experience.
