If you're from Southern California, you've most likely heard of The Bolts, an Orange County based local favorite. They've recently gone under a rebranding and have emerged as Island Apollo, going from an alt rock sound reminiscent of 30 Seconds To Mars to a more coastal-infused indie rock essence. Retaining their edgy yet authentic anthem flare, these guys blend pysch-atmospherics with ear-catching brass riffage to create an innovative winding rock aesthetic in Miracle. The group perfectly captures the exploratory nature of the Los Angeles music scene in recent years, from bands such as Capital Cities, Foster The People, Saint Motel, and even Cold War Kids. Under their new name, these guys set out to make intriguing tunes full of empathetic energy. Their mission to make every song "flow naturally and... every detail...serve an artistic purpose" is fully realized in their passionately defined work. This is definitely a band to watch out for, so make this your late summer soundtrack.
