In what could only be fate, Alt Rising Acts and close friends to the blog The Good Wives share a stellar cover of my favorite Blondie track, right in time for my birthday. Continuing their amazing collaborative efforts, the Seattle-based group and producer Neal Harris premiere their reinterpretation of Heart of Glass exclusively on IndieBeat. The track really updates the song to the sound of 2015: with the electronic-atmospheric quality of the track tuned up, the song glistens in new ways. An added layer of edgy nostalgic tension is embedded deep within, a standard characteristic of these guys' touch. There's even incredible instrumental development with that fervent guitar riffage winding about. It's cerebral and futuristic, divine and has me losing my mind. A cover that would make Debbie Harry herself proud.
