If you’re an IndieBeat reader, you’ve definitely heard of Miss Geo. The group is a frequent feature on the site, as they were one of the first artists who inspired me to start supporting artistry through digital means—with added emphasis on digital considering their synthesizer-driven sound aesthetic. The experimental electropop trio (in 2016, Abby Heredia and Paz Mary added a third live member, Polish multimedia artist Alex Miklowski on bass) are now set to release their debut full-length Connections on September 16th, and having previewed it, it’s everything you come to expect from the group and much, much more. |
Today the group has released a new single entitled Sea In Between. The two wrote Sea In Between with the idea of home in mind saying, “The song is based on the feeling of moving to a new country and trying to find balance between your old and new home.” The track very much feels like an 80s power anthem, complete with ambient glisten. Abby’s airy vocals makes listeners feel comforted as the song tries to find balance between Miss Geo’s old sound, and this new more textured released which feels like a defined aesthetic home for the trio. The new single could fit easily on Tegan & Sara’s latest record. Abby, Paz & Alex are writing intelligent indie-pop that’s simply inviting. We’re dazzled by what Miss Geo is doing on Connections, and you will be too come September 16th.
