That same vibe is transformed in a more updated and defined sound in their latest release Tonight Is The Night. Reminiscent of 90s R&B/Soul mixed with an edgy yet euphoric nostalgia rock underlayer, the first single off their upcoming debut album showcases the infectious melodies these guys constantly churn out in their releases. One listen to that addicting synth funkline will have you hooked, not to mention the combination of passionately longing vocals, fluttering bass lines and the occasional ornate flourish.
The Ceremonies is a very visually focused act, which is why the release of a music video along with the new track is fitting. Paralleling the 90s-influenced sound is a very stylized acoustic video, shot home video style in the back of a convertible, live on a stretch of Mulholland Drive. The images almost seem familiar, cherished late night memories caught in celluloid, replayed as an attempt to capture the joy of the past. It’s a comforting vision for an equally solace song.
