This is Wayfarer:
Here it is everyone, the album artwork for the new record which will be released in March. The album is entitled Wayfarer and the artwork features a photo from my good friend and photographer Jaimi Wainright.
Secondly, Wayfarer was a great fit due to the content of the record. Glacia was very heavily inspired by my own personal feelings and experiences. Well Wayfarer does have some of that strung throughout, the majority of the focus in on the topic of ghosts towns. During recording and writing I became fascinated with the idea of something functioning and being a living microcosm of human activity then falling away to nothing but a memory on a map. This is reflected through the titles of many of the tracks, which are names of ghosts towns throughout the United States and Canada. From this came the idea of travel as the album moves from coast to coast, country to country, town to town and shares my interpretation of the stories of these now vacant places.
The last aspect of Wayfarer came in the form of my own process while recording this record. It was a long walk, I didn’t try to rush things, or get to the end of the process rapidly. There was a concerted effort to get the songs right and I believe I met that goal.
Wayfarer is the album of travel both in content and physical actuality and I cannot wait to start sharing this record with you. Next Thursday, January 15th, I will release the first single off the album. Stay tuned for that, thanks for reading.
